On February 14, 2004, Gage & Tollner, ostensibly New York's oldest restaurant, closed down and, if that weren't traumatic enough, became a TGI Friday's.
Finally, Friday's is gone, and the façade sports a banner advertising a fully-equipped restaurant for rent.
